5 Weeks Out

Over 40 riders have taken the leap and registered for the Shimano Minnesota State Cyclocross Weekend on November 14th and 15th. We are working tirelessly to ensure the greatest cyclocross event in the history of Minnesota!

As you may have noticed we are proud to announce that Shimano has decided to join us as the title sponsor for our race weekend. Thanks to their generous support we have been able to secure a huge tent that will be home to the Shimano vendor area AND beer/food vendors!

In addition to Shimano countless local bicycle shops have decided that this race is the one to support. Penn Cycle has signed on to do technical support! The duel sets of barriers are being sponsored by One on One Bicycle Studio and Behind-Bars Bicycle Shop. Topping it all off at the sand pit is Freewheel Bike!

Many more shops are planning on setting up shop in the expo area and tons of high quality prizes have been donated. Heck, the hardest job may be trying to figure out who gets what prizes as there are so many good ones to pick from!

We are also currently working out a deal with GrandStay Residential Suites Hotels to be our lodging sponsor. Not only do they plan to show up full force at the race in Mid-November they will be offering some killer lodging deals at their Apple Valley location which is well worth the drive!

Besides securing the sponsorships we are hard at work on course layout. Scott Robertson and Mike Pederson are in charge of all the details and they are promising a traditional states course for the Saturday race and a fast Belgian style course for the Sunday race.  In fact, racing just one day may be a huge mistake as both days are going to be unique and amazing.

Finally, the best part, the Crystal Parks Department is proud to be the recipient of 100% of race proceeds. Over the years this race has contributed over $10,000 to disadvantaged youth in the Crystal community and we are proud to be partnering with our sponsors to keep this tradition alive and donate the largest sum yet!

Stay tuned for more information regarding this event.
